Kazakh grain shipment to China increased 4 times

For nine months of the current season (from September 2022 to June 2023), the transportation of grain from Kazakhstan to China increased 4 times – up to 1.1 mln tonnes. Loading of milled products to China increased 3 times to 344`000 tonnes. Transportation of Kazakh grain to Uzbekistan increased by 31%, Tajikistan - by 30%, and Afghanistan - by 48%. The participants of the meeting were informed about this at the site of NC KTZ JSC, where they summed up the results of grain transportation of the 2022/23 MY harvest and discussed the issues of transporting the new crop.

In general, for 9 months of the season, the transportation of Kazakh grain increased by 29% year-on-year and amounted to 9.8 mln tonnes. Over 8 mln tonnes of grain were exported, which is up 33% y-o-y. The transportation of milled products increased by 28% to 2.7 mln tonnes. Exports of flour and other grain processing products increased by 31% to 2.1 mln tonnes.

The main markets for Kazakh grain and milled products have traditionally been the countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran, Russia, and China.

KTZ stressed that the development of transportation routes remains one of the key priorities. Thanks to this, the acceleration of the turnover of the car, the reduction in the volume of processing of cars at technical stations, and the reduction in the delivery time of goods are ensured.
