Ukraine started harvesting oilseeds – sunflower seeds and soybeans, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy data.
As of August 13, sunflower seeds were harvested from 25.6 thsd ha (0.5% of the forecast), with production volume at 49.4 thsd tonne and yield – 1.93 t/ha. Soybeans were harvested from 11.2 thsd ha (0.6%), with production volume at 30.6 thsd tonnes and yield – 2.73 t/ha.
Also, Ukrainian farmers started harvesting sugar beets, which as of August 31 were harvested from 1.1 thsd ha (0.4%), with production at 51.2 thsd tonnes (46.5 t/ha).
Grains and pulses were harvested from 6.642 mln ha (61% of the plan), and with the average yield at 4.39 t/ha production volume reached 29.184 mln tonnes.
Particularly, grains were harvested as follows:
- wheat – from 4.69 mln ha (101% of the forecast), yield – 4.82 t/ha; production – 22.142 mln tonnes;
- barley – from 1,498 млн га (100%), yield – 3.88 t/ha; production – 5,809 mln tonnes;
- millet – from 16.7 thsd ha (20%), yield – 2.04 t/ha; production 34.114 thsd ha;
- buckwheat – from 19.8 thsd ha (14%); yield – 1.4 t/ha; production – 27.7 thsd tonnes.
As of the reporting date, rapeseed harvesting was nearly finished – the oilseed was collected from 1.393 mln ha (98%), and production reached 3.997 mln tonnes (2.87 t/ha).
