Ukraine should refocus the inland grain shipment on river transport by the Dnieper river, instead of overburdening the roads, declared the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Oleksiy Honcharuk.
The country needs to run the transportation of goods by the river. The Cabinet of Ministers already provided the corresponding draft laws to the Parliament. It is very important for the purpose of solution of the transportation problem, since river vessel is the cheapest mode of transport, and therefore the shipment of heavy cargoes should be moved from roads and railways to the river, he explained.
According to O.Honcharuk, the Dnieper river should be used for transportation of goods and passengers. New investments should be oriented to the river infrastructure, in particular for the construction of locks, mooring berths, etc.
