Ukraine: in 2019, Nika-Tera shipped the record cargo volumes

In 2019, Sea Special Port Nika-Tera LLC (Mykolaiv, part of Group DF) increased its cargo turnover to 8.637 mln tonnes, declared the press-service of the port, on January 15.

In particular, the shipments of grains, pulses and oilseeds totaled more than 5.9 mln tonnes or 69% of the general cargo turnover, bulk cargoes — 1.7 mln tonnes (19.7%), oilseed meals and wheat bran — 772.5 thsd tonnes (8.9%), and liquid bulk cargoes — 204.7 thsd tonnes (2.4%).

According to the announcement, in the reporting period the port berths processed 410 vessels, as opposed to 335 vessels in 2018.

The volumes of 8.637 mln tonnes of cargo turnover is the absolute record for the port. The upward trend totaled 2.8 mln tonnes, or 48% compared with 2018. Two factors influenced at the result. First, the port managed to realize several investment projects with the support of shareholders, aimed at increasing of the customer service rates. Nika-Tera increased the speed of loading and unloading processes, and updated the whole production process, corrected the technologies in the port and logistics. The second important factor is quite successful management decisions, reported the port chief, Alim Agakishiev.
