Ukraine: since the beginning of 2019/20 MY, the EVT terminal shipped over 2 mln tonnes of grains

In 2019/20 MY, the port terminal EuroVneshTorg (EVT) shipped over 2 mln tonnes of grain crops for exports. The terminal passed the mark on May 9, when processed the vessel Despina Angel, which took on board a batch of wheat, reported the press-service of EVT, on May 15.

It is noted that since the beginning of the current MY, the terminal worked with seven various types of agricultural crops. At the same time, wheat (900.8 thsd tonnes) and corn (574.5 thsd tonnes) took the leading positions in the transshipment structure. Also, EVT shipped rapeseed, soybeans, oilseed meals, barley and peas. In the reporting period, the terminal accepted 81 vessels for loading operations.

In addition, 2019/20 MY became the first full year of operation for the EVT sea terminal. In the previous season, the company worked in the commissioning operation stage, and processed nearly 0.5 mln tonnes of cargoes.

EVT is the most dynamic terminal in Mykolaiv, which simultaneously increases the transshipment rates, increases the storage capacities, and the length of its berth space. The company plans to process more than 3 mln tonnes of grains in the new season. In fact, EVT already doubled the capacities for cargo acceptance from road and rail transport, increased the storage capacities by 150 thsd tonnes, and plans to double the shipping capacities to vessels in the autumn, after construction of additional berth, and launching of the second shiploader, said the Director of the port operator EVT Grain, Serhiy Gunko.
