Russia will export 47.8 mln tonnes of grain in 2021/22 MY, the third largest volume on record after 2017/18 MY and 2020/21 MY, said the Head of the analytical center at Rusagrotrans JSC, Igor Pavensky, informs PortNews.
“Russia will harvest 127 mln tonnes of grain in 2021, including 80.2 mln tonnes of wheat. In recent weeks, the forecast of production was cut sharply due to lower than expected yield in the European part of Russia. It is possible that wheat crop will fall to less than 80 mln tonnes to about 79 mln tonnes. Southern regions of Russian may harvest 34 mln tonnes of wheat, while the situation is not as good in Volga and Ural regions, where drought hurt crops”, - the expert says.
The expert cut wheat export forecast to 35.3 mln tonnes in 2021/22 MY, down by 2.3 mln tonnes compared to 2020/21 MY.
