The Middle East countries can become major importers of Russian grains, if Turkey withdraws from grain purchases. The list of such countries includes Iran, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, etc. as well as other countries in Africa (Morocco, Ghana, Namibia, Nigeria, Gambia, Cameroon, Kenya, etc.), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on December 8.

Also, it was noted that during 10 months of 2015, the Russian Federation exported foodstuffs to Turkey at nearly 1.4 bln USD. Grains formed the major share of Russian export supplies of agricultural products to Turkey (56.1% of the general volume, including wheat and meslin – 44.2%).

Since the beginning of 2015, the Russian Federation exported 3.5 mln tonnes of grains to Turkey - nearly 12% of the general exports of grains from the country.
