The government of Ukraine canceled a ban on export of rye and mineral fertilizers and introduced licensing for these goods, the press service of the CMU reported on July 26.

"Currently, carry-over stocks of rye in Ukraine are estimated at 73 thsd tonnes, and production is forecast at 351 thsd tons. This will cover the domestic demand for consumption, which amounts to about 353 thsd tonnes per year", – the message reads.

In addition, due to the completion of the planting campaign, the demand for mineral fertilizers is significantly lower, while export of the surplus will allow increasing foreign currency income to the country, which is important for the economic recovery of Ukraine.

As a reminder, until now, Ukraine had a zero quota for export of rye and mineral fertilizers. Such measures were necessary to ensure the access to these essential goods on the domestic market.
