Ukraine shipped half of total wheat export via “grain corridor” in July-September

According to APK-Inform, Ukraine exported 3 mln tonnes of wheat in July-September 2022/23 MY (-66% y/y), including 1.5 mln tonnes shipped via the “grain corridor”.

Turkey was the main importer of Ukrainian wheat. The country decreased purchases by 8% to 767.7 thsd tonnes in July-September. Romania imported 640.8 thsd tonnes of Ukrainian wheat. Italia increased import of Ukrainian wheat by almost 12 times to 379 thsd tonnes. The total share of these countries amounted to 59% in the overall export structure.

APK-Inform expects Ukraine to ship 13.4 mln tonnes of wheat in 2022/23 (-29% y/y) if the “grain corridor” is prolonged. Under the pessimistic scenario, the export of the grain will decrease to 7.8 mln tonnes (-59% y/y).
