In Ukraine, the agricultural land market can be opened since October 1, 2020. The authorities of Ukraine specified the reporting date as the benchmark point, declared the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Oleksiy Honcharuk, on September 19.

The Prime Minister explained that previously, it was planned to launch the land market from July 2020, but after consultations with agrarians, the authorities decided to delay the start.

"We do not immediately open the land market, because agrarians should have some leeway to gear up for the new rules of activities. We thought to do it starting from July 1 next year. However, then we had consultations with farmers, and decided that doing it in summer was not a good idea," said O.Honcharuk.
