In the season-2018/19, Iran significantly increased the imports of sunflower oil from Russia — up 172%, to 627 thsd tonnes, declared the Director of oils and meals trade company EFKO, Anton Gritsai, to APK-Inform journalists.

According to him, Russia is the second largest global exporter of sunflower oil, and the deliveries are usually performed to more than 40 counties around the globe, and the number still continues increasing from year to year.

Iran, Egypt, Turkey and China are the main countries-consumers of Russian sunflower oil, which in 2018/19 MY imported 627 thsd tonnes, 254 thsd tonnes, 439 thsd tonnes, and 235 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil, respectively.
