In its recent April report, the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) updated the forecast of grains of the harvest-2020/21 from the level of 92.6 mln tonnes (March forecast) to 94 mln tonnes. At the same time, the expectations of grain and oilseed exports also increased — from 55.6 mln tonnes to 57.2 mln tonnes, reported the press-service of the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA).

The slightly lower forecast of the harvest of grains and oilseeds in 2020 in comparison with the current season does not really change the upward trend of 3 recent years, when Ukraine annually harvested more than 90 mln tonnes. In the medium term, the general harvest in Ukraine will reach the indicator of 100 mln tonnes and continue growing, the press-service added.

In particular, the forecast of wheat harvest and exports in the new MY did not change in comparison with the March report, and will reach 25.8 mln tonnes and 18 mln tonnes, respectively.

At the same time, the harvest of corn will total 36.8 mln tonnes (34.3 mln tonnes according to the previous figures), and the exports — 30 mln tonnes (27.5 mln tonnes). Thus, in 2020/21 MY Ukraine will break its own record of the current MY, when the harvest of corn totaled 35.2 mln tonnes, and the exports — nearly 28.5 mln tonnes.

At the same time, the UGA experts lowered the forecast of the barley harvest in comparison with the previous month estimations — from 7.96 mln tonnes to 6.8 mln tonnes, as well as the exports — from 4.5 mln tonnes to 3.5 mln tonnes.
