Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera that is incorporated in the Group DF transshipped 6.4 mln tonnes of agricultural cargoes in 2019/20 MY, up 20% compared to 2018/19 MY, informed the press-service of Group DF.
Particularly, the port increased the transshipment volumes of barley (+141%), wheat (+51%) and meal (+42%). Moreover, in 2019/20 MY Nika-Tera handled rapeseed for the first time.
Traditionally, wheat and corn formed the main share in the structure of transshipped agricultural cargoes.
“We improved the technology of harbor transshipment aboard Panamax vessels. Moreover, in 2019/20 MY, we performed the harbor transshipment of sunflower oil for the first time”, - commented the Harbourmaster of the port Alim Agakishiev.
In 2019/20 MY, Nika-Tera handled 263 vessels with grains, pulses, oilseeds and by-products. The number of Panamax vessels more than tripled compared to the previous season.
