As of September 28, Ukrainian farmers planted winter crops throughout more than 2.2 mln ha or 27% of the plan (8.2 mln ha), declared the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
Particularly, winter wheat was planted throughout 1.5 mln ha or 25% of the plan (6.1 mln ha), winter barley - throughout 61.2 thsd ha or 6% (946.3 thsd ha), winter rye - throughout 28.7 thsd ha or 22% (133.2 thsd ha).
Farmers planted winter rapeseed throughout 620.6 thsd ha or 61% (1.01 mln ha).
Farmers of all oblasts of Ukraine have already started the planting campaign.
“Despite unstable weather, the winter planting campaign is moving further successfully across the entire territory of Ukraine. Farmers have all necessary resources for autumn field works. The progress of the planting campaign is in line with the plan”, - the Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture, Ihor Petrashko commented.
