The Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine emphasized once again that all current commitments of farmers for forward contracts and other contracts should be fulfilled. This was stated during the meeting between the Ministry and participants of grain market on November 2, informed the press-service of the Ministry.

“Ukraine as a guarantor of global food security should remain a reliable partner who smoothly export agricultural products, despite all complexity aroused by the coronavirus pandemic”, - was stated in the message.

The Ministry said that they together with agricultural associations, representatives of Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, members of parliament and producers support an open dialogue to find a middle ground under the situation caused by adverse weather and complexity to execute forward contracts faced by farmers.

“We consider ratification of mutually beneficial Memorandum between the Ministry for Development of Economy and grain market participants. This document should be a guide on sorting out the problems of forward contracts execution for grain traders and agricultural producers. The Ministry should turn into a platform helping to reach agreement on matters of argument between the parties”, - was stated in the message.
