APK-Inform estimates the carry-over stocks of grains at 5.7 mln tonnes in Ukraine in 2020/21 MY, up by 17% compared to the previous season (4.9 mln tonnes).
Wheat carry-over stocks will reach 1.5 mln tonnes (+0.8%), barley - 1 mln tonnes (-8%), corn - 2.4 mln tonnes (+51%).
“Thus, growth of grain ending stocks will be based mainly on higher stocks of corn due to declining demand for it from importers amid its high price. Reserved farmers’ selling will lead to higher stocks as well”, - the experts explained.
Higher grain stocks combined with favorable weather conditions will pressure the domestic prices of grains in Ukraine in the mid-term prospect.
