The Ministry of Agrarian Policy increased its forecast of spring planted area in Ukraine, Taras Vysotsky, First Deputy Minister said on April 21.
“As of today, Ukrainian farmers have planted 3 mln ha with spring crops out of 12 mln ha planned. The situation has improved over the last 10 days, we now expect the planted area to reach 75% of potential. Many fields have been demined, primary in Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts”, – he said.
In the nearest future, the forecast can be revised up by additional 5% with more fields cleared from mines.
As a reminder, previously, T. Vysotsky forecasted that not less than 70% of the potential spring area would be planted in Ukraine in 2022 under the pessimistic scenario.
