This year, Ukraine will harvest sizably lower crop of grains and oilseeds due to the war and unfavorable weather. However, the production will be sufficient for country’s food security and exports, head of Agricultural Development Department of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Igor Vishtak said on November 24.
“We are talking about 51 mln tonnes of grains and 16 mln tonens of oilseeds”, – he said.
I. Vishtak added that farmers had harvested 9 mln ha (81%) of grains and pulses with the average yield of 4.34 t/ha. Production volumes reached 39.1 mln tonnes.
“Winter planting campaign is 94% completed. Grains were planted throughout 4.4 mln ha, winter rapeseed – almost 1 mln ha”, – he added.
