In 2023, Ukraine can harvest at least 45 mln tonnes of grains, and under favorable weather conditions – up to 50 mln tonnes, forecasted Taras Vysotskyi, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on the air of the "Yedini Novyny" telethon, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported on April 18.

The official noted, that Ukrainian farmers aim to plant the largest possible areas under grains in the controlled territory.

"There are no threats to domestic food security in Ukraine. 45 mln tonnes is 2.5 times more than needed, as Ukrainians consume about 18 mln tonnes of grain annually," the First Deputy Minister emphasized.
