Russian agrarians increased sales of grains by almost 10% in January-February

In January-February 2021, all types of agricultural organizations of the Russian Federation increased the selling volumes of grain crops by 9.2% in comparison with the same period of 2020 to 6.9 mln tonnes, reported the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) on March 31.

Particularly, in February, Russian agricultural organizations increased the sales of grains by 3.9% to 3.6 mln tonnes.

In February, sales of sunflower seed grew by 5.5% to 0.9 mln tonnes. They declined by 6.7% to 1.3 mln tonnes in January-February.

In February, Russian agricultural organizations decreased sales of farm animals and poultry in live weight by 1.5% to 0.9 mln tonnes, eggs by 7.2% to 2.4 bln pcs, while sales of milk grew by 0.3% to 1.3 mln tonnes.

In January-February, Russian agricultural organizations sold 1.9 mln tonnes of farm animals and poultry in live weight (-2.1%), 2.8 mln tonnes of milk (+2.2%) and 5.2 bln pcs of eggs (-4.9%).
