Kazakhstan plans to extend the total irrigated area under agricultural crops to 2 mln ha by 2022. Moreover, the area under rice and cotton, which absorb much water will be reduced, informed the press-service of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In terms of shifting to “green economy” and promotion of modern irrigation systems, the government took steps to reimburse 50% of costs to agribusiness entities for infrastructure supply and purchase of irrigation systems as well as to subsidize 10% rates of remuneration for credits and finance lease.
