Ukrainian seaports almost halved grain exports in June

According to the monitoring reports by APK-Inform Agency, in the period of June 1-30, 2020, the seaports of Ukraine decreased the export volumes of major grain crops. Thus, in the reporting period the seaports shipped for exports 1.95 mln tonnes of grains, down 47% compared with the previous month volumes (3.68 mln tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

In particular, in the reporting period the shipments of wheat decreased by 5 times — to 214 thsd tonnes. The corn exports decreased by 37% — to 1.54 mln tonnes. At the same time, the ports increased the shipment of barley by 38% — to 193 thsd tonnes.

In the reporting month, Indonesia was the largest importer of wheat (66,2 thsd tonnes), China was the main destination for corn (785.3 thsd tonnes), and Saudi Arabia – for barley (126.6 thsd tonnes).

In 2019/20 MY, the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port (16.93 mln tonnes) still remained the leader in the exports of major grain crops. The Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port (13.56 mln tonnes) and Sea Commercial Port of Pivdennyj (9.85 mln tonnes) took the second and third positions, respectively.
