In 2023, Ukrainian agrarian business will continue to adapt to changes of business conditions, one of the consequences of which will be a decrease in the cost of grain logistics, deputy commercial director at railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia Valery Tkachov declared.

"️The total cost of logistics will decrease by 10-20% (in dollar terms) due to the improvement of supply/demand ratio. In addition, the export of agricultural products will become more uniform throughout the year (seasonal fluctuations in export volumes will decrease)", – the expert believes.

V. Tkachev also predicts a decrease of the planted area under agricultural crops due to temporary occupation of territories and mining of rural lands.

"Crop rotation will also change, the area under corn and low-margin grain crops will decrease, and the area under high-margin oilseeds (rapeseed, soybean) and niche crops will increase. The potential volume of grain exports will begin to decrease", – he believes.
"In general, I hope that the agrarian business will quickly adapt to all the challenges of 2023", – V. Tkachev summarized.
