Ukraine collected over 37 mln tonnes of grains and oilseeds

Ukrainian farmers have finished harvesting early grains and continue threshing late grains and oilseeds. As of September 21, 37.4 mln tonnes of the new crop have been harvested. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

In particular, grains and pulses have already been harvested from 6.841 mln ha, of which 29.8 mln tonnes of grain were collected at a yield of 4.36 t/ha, including:

  • wheat – from 4.69 mln ha, (yield – 47..3 t/ha), production – 22.19 mln tonnes;
  • barley – from 1.504 mln ha (yield – 3.9 t/ha), production – 5.862 mln tonnes;
  • peas – from 154 thsd ha (yield – 2.57 t/ha), production – 396.8 thsd tonnes;
  • corn – from 40.6 thsd ha (yield – 4.49 t/ha), production – 182.5 thsd tonnes;
  • buckwheat – from 96.9 thsd ha (yield – 1.43 t/ha), production – 138.2 thsd tonnes;
  • millet – from 58.6 thsd ha (yield – 2.14 t/ha), production – 125.3 thsd tonnes;
  • other grains and pulses – from 297 thsd ha, production – 905 thsd tonnes.

Harvesting of oilseeds was carried out on 2.988 mln ha, and production reached 7.649 mln tonnes, in particular:

  • rapeseed – from 1.396 mln ha (yield – 2.87 t/ha), production – 4,003 mln tonnes;
  • sunflower seed – from 1.089 mln ha (yield – 2.18 t/ha), production –  2,375 mln tonnes;
  • soybean – from 504 thsd ha (yield –  2.52 t/ha), production – 1,271 mln tonnes.

Harvesting of sugar beets is also underway – 1.46 mln tonnes were harvested from 32.3 thsd ha with a yield of 45.17 t/ha.
